Caydens doctor visit

Well today we went to the doctor our appt was on Friday, but he has a weird belly button thing going on so we went in early...
Turns out he has a herniated umbilicle which is fine will go away on its own and the doctor said is actually small compared to the ones he has seen before. To me it looks huge and it make a watery squish sound when you push on it very strange... I will post a pic of what it looks like soon.
Because we were there they went ahead and gave him his shots..yuck..three pricks in the leg and some drops in the mouth..bad times for Cayden! He is now sleeping it off and I hope will stay sleeping through me working tonight.
He weighed in at a solid 10 lbs 2 oz and 21 inches long (but I think she measured him wrong because last appt he was 21.5 inches long and has since grown out of his 0-3mth clothes).

Next appt no shots!!! Its at the end of this month more to come then

Charlie decided that Cayden was having too much fun on the mat and had to join him!! Well thats kinda true Charlie was giving him back his pacifer and this is the method he chose to crawl in the toy with him.

Well I finally took some pictures of Cayden and his new trick...rolling from his belly to his back!! He had a big day laying on his mat while Charlie and I cleaned house. He spent majority of his time spitting out his pacifer and letting us know that he wanted it back. A few times I had to stand over him and laugh as he tryed his hardest to shake his head and suck in air in efforts to get his pacifer (which was at least 3 inches away from him) back into his mouth. Just in case your wondering he was not successful, but was cute as hell trying to get it back. He has however been successful at spitting out his pacifer onto his chest and leaning his head down to regain the pacifer. Yet again cute!!!

Getting back to normal

Well at work tonight I jumped back on the horse and played soccer. It felt great getting back out and exercising I was not nearly as out of shape as I thought I would be. Our next season starts next week and I intend on joining a coed team again. Im really glad about tonight!

Charlie and Cayden spent the entire day sans Mommy and did great!! They had many successful feedings and Cayden even behaved himself. I missed him like crazy and now understand why Dad want to just hold him all night when he gets off work!!

Just my luck...

Well two night working with Cayden was easy!! However the six in a row I just finished was not so easy!! After I worked for my girl who was out of town my other office worker had to have emergency surgery to remove a cyst. So I had to pick up her shifts by the thrid night of work and lack of sleep setting in I became zombie like for the last few days. It seems every chance I had to take a nap I either had to leave to go to work or feed Cayden. By Sunday night I could hardly keep my eyes open, but luckily that night I some good sleep so I could make it through Monday. Cayden is actually really good while I am up at work he sits in his seat unless he is hungry. I am looking forward to Charlie being out of school for the summer so he can watch Cayden while I work.

Frist full night back at work

Well last night I worked my first full night. One of my office workers is out of town and since I lost my other office worker I had to pick up the shift. I brought Cayden with me at 5pm and Charlie picked him up around 7pm when he finished with clinicals. He did great slept the entire time until right when charlie was walking in the door. I work tonight and Saturday also lets hope it goes as well as last night went!!!

Cayden's 1 month Checkup

Today we brought Cayden back to see Dr Vaughan for his 1 month check up. We had a wonderful check up!! He is doing great and is now 8lbs and 3oz and measures 21.5in. That is a 1lb 1oz weight gain in 10 days!!! Boy am I glad I am not gaining weight like that!!!! I was very excited to see him put on that much weight due to his slow to start weight gain. We go back in three weeks for his first set of shots not really looking forward to that.

I will be getting my blood drawn at the visit to see if I ever had the chicken pox so that if not I can get the vaccine just in case. I am under the impression that I never had them, but Dr Vaughan says many people have a hidden case of them that they might not even be aware that they had them. We will see...

I took some pictures of Cayden today, but left my camera in my car so I will post them later!

My first blog...

Yeah, I am on now. This looks somewhat complicated, but I'll figure it out along the way.

Well its finally here, day 11 of my 11 days'o'hell. I do work and school for 11 days in a row, then take three days off, and repeat the process. My boss is going to allow me some time off to study for finals though, when those tests are getting close, so it will be a nice change in pace. Hopefully I'll do well enough to move on to 4th semester clinicals. Its been an INSANE uphill climb, and we are nearing the end.

Cayden is fantastic, and is looking more humanoid every day. I think he smiled today, but I know he probably was just passing gas. The three of us went to dinner with our friend Beth and her family and friends, as well as with my neice Jennifer. It was a great time, but I think the sake is making me sleepy.

Ok well due to some grandmother and friend request I decided to give in an start our own new family blog. Hopefully I can get Charlie on board to help me post stuff he is a much better writter than I.
